Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

Upon landing at Paro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and driven to Thimphu along a picturesque valley road (about 1.5 hours). After settling in, begin your sightseeing with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten, an important spiritual landmark for local residents. Continue to the impressive Buddha Dordenma, which offers sweeping views over the capital. A stop at the National Library introduces you to Bhutan’s historic manuscripts and literary treasures. Day 2: Cultural Discovery of Thimphu

Devote your second day to exploring Thimphu’s artistic and cultural identity. Start at the Institute for Zorig Chusum, where students train in Bhutan’s traditional 13 arts. Visit the Folk Heritage Museum to experience the lifestyle of rural Bhutan, followed by the Textile Museum, which showcases the country’s remarkable weaving traditions. In the afternoon, tour Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body. If it’s a weekend, visit the bustling Centenary Farmers’ Market to see local produce and crafts. Day 3: Druk Wangyel Festival at Dochula Pass

Begin early and drive to Dochula Pass, known for its panoramic Himalayan views and 108 memorial chortens. Here you will attend the Druk Wangyel Festival, a one-of-a-kind celebration honoring Bhutan’s military victories and national unity. Enjoy a full day of vibrant mask dances, stirring performances, and unique cultural displays in an unforgettable high-altitude setting. After the festival, continue to Punakha (approx. 2.5 hours). Day 4: Discovering Punakha

Start the day with a gentle walk to Chimi Lhakhang, the well-known Temple of Fertility. Day 6: Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) Hike

Today you’ll hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliffside high above the valley. The trek, though challenging, offers breathtaking views and a deep sense of accomplishment upon reaching the monastery. After returning to the base, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest sacred temples. Conclude the day with a special farewell dinner featuring local flavors. Overnight in Paro.

Day 7: Departure from Paro
