Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Arrive at Paro International Airport, where your guide will warmly welcome you and accompany you to your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum, gaining your first insight into Bhutan’s rich culture and history. In the evening, relax at your hotel and prepare for the trek ahead.
Day 2: Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery
Begin your Bhutan adventure with a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), spectacularly perched on a cliff high above the Paro Valley. After descending, enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure in Paro, making any final preparations for your trek starting the next day.
Day 3: Paro to Jele Dzong
Start your trek with a steady ascent through tranquil pine forests toward Jele Dzong. The journey takes about 4–5 hours and rewards you with panoramic views of the Paro Valley. Set up camp near Jele Dzong (3,450m) and enjoy breathtaking vistas, including a distant glimpse of Mount Jomolhari.
Day 4: Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha
Trek onward to Jangchulakha, following a scenic trail that winds through thick alpine forests and rhododendron groves. Clearings along the way offer beautiful views of the Himalayan range. Today’s walk takes about 3–4 hours before camping at Jangchulakha (3,770m).
Day 5: Jangchulakha to Jimilang Tsho
Continue toward the stunning alpine lake of Jimilang Tsho. The path includes several gentle ascents and descents, leading you through open ridges and wooded patches over 4–5 hours. Camp beside the serene lake at 3,870m, known for its crystal waters and trout.
Day 6: Jimilang Tsho to Simkotra Tsho
Proceed to Simkotra Tsho, trekking across rocky slopes and landscapes dotted with dwarf rhododendrons. The 4–5-hour journey brings you to another pristine mountain lake, where you will camp at 4,110m, surrounded by dramatic high-altitude scenery.
Day 7: Simkotra Tsho to Phajoding
Today’s trek leads you over several scenic mountain passes, offering sweeping views of the Thimphu Valley and distant Himalayan peaks. After 5–6 hours of trekking, arrive at Phajoding (3,600m), where you will camp near the historic monastery.
Day 8: Phajoding to Thimphu
Descend from Phajoding through a beautiful forest trail, taking roughly 3–4 hours to reach Thimphu. Check into your hotel and spend the afternoon discovering the capital’s highlights, including the National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma, and Tashichho Dzong.
Day 9: Thimphu Sightseeing – Drive to Paro
Begin the day with more cultural visits in Thimphu, such as the Folk Heritage Museum and the Handicrafts Emporium. In the afternoon, drive back to Paro (about 1.5 hours). Settle into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing final evening.
Day 10: Departure from Paro
