Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Upon landing at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, visit Rinpung Dzong, a historic fortress that showcases Bhutan’s traditional architecture, followed by a tour of the National Museum, where you’ll gain insight into the country’s culture and heritage. Spend the evening resting and preparing for your upcoming trek.
Day 2: Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery – Drive to Sharna Zampa
Begin the day with a rewarding hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang) Monastery, dramatically perched 900 meters above the Paro Valley. The trek offers awe-inspiring views and a profound sense of accomplishment upon reaching the monastery. After a scenic picnic lunch, descend and drive to Sharna Zampa, the starting point of your trek. Settle into your campsite and rest for the night.
Day 3: Sharna Zampa to Thangthangkha
Start your trek with a pleasant walk through lush forests and peaceful meadows, gradually gaining elevation as you approach Thangthangkha (3,610m). The day’s hike takes about 5–6 hours. On arrival, set up camp and enjoy the quiet mountain wilderness.
Day 4: Thangthangkha to Jangothang
Continue your journey through picturesque landscapes as you trek toward Jangothang. After 6–7 hours of walking, you’ll reach the campsite at 4,080 meters, one of the most beautiful spots on the route. Here, you’ll be greeted with stunning, close-up views of Mount Jomolhari. Spend the evening acclimatizing and soaking in the dramatic scenery.
Day 5: Rest Day at Jangothang
Use this day to acclimate while exploring the breathtaking surroundings. Take an optional hike to Tshophu Lake or wander through the valley, enjoying panoramic vistas of Jomolhari and neighboring peaks. Relax at camp and conserve energy for the days ahead.
Day 6: Jangothang to Lingshi
Today’s trek leads you over the Nyile La Pass (4,870m), offering sweeping views of the Himalayas. After taking in the scenery, descend toward Lingshi and set up camp near the historic Lingshi Dzong (4,010m). The journey takes about 6–7 hours and rewards you with dramatic landscapes throughout.
Day 7: Lingshi to Shodu
Ascend steadily to the Yalila Pass (4,930m), the highest point of your trek, where you’ll be treated to some of the most impressive views of the entire route. Descend through rhododendron forests to reach Shodu (4,100m). Trekking time is approximately 7–8 hours.
Day 8: Shodu to Barshong
Follow the path along the Thimphu River as you make your way toward Barshong. The trail winds through dense forests and wide pastures, offering a peaceful day of trekking. After 5–6 hours, arrive at your campsite near the ruins of Barshong Dzong (3,600m).
Day 9: Barshong to Thimphu
After breakfast, trek for about 3–4 hours to reach the roadhead where your vehicle awaits. Drive to Thimphu and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the city at your leisure after completing your trek.
Day 10: Thimphu Sightseeing – Drive to Paro
Discover Thimphu’s cultural highlights, including the National Memorial Chorten, the Folk Heritage Museum, and the Handicrafts Emporium. In the afternoon, drive back to Paro and settle into your hotel for a quiet, restful evening.
Day 11: Departure from Paro
